Gender Talks for Students at Matugga and Aga Khan High Schools
In commemoration of women’s day we conducted a gender talk for the students of Aga Khan High School and Matugga High School on breaking gender stereotypes. These gender talks were organized as part of the students’ Women’s Day commemoration activity. We managed to steer over 500 students’ full and effective participation and sensitized them about the elimination of violence, achieving gender equality, and empowering women and girls.
We also participated in Commission on the Status of Women (CSW): We were represented by our ED Primah Kwagala, who was a panellist at a side event organized by GFF; the panel discussed resourcing community-based organizations to advance gender equality. From this our ED was invited to join an Advisory Group, which will consist of a small group of experts working at the intersection of child marriage and the law, jointly with the Girls Not Brides and the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ)we will be providing counsel to Girls Not Brides and CFJ to support strategic litigation and legal advocacy to end child marriage on the African continent.
