Drafting and Review of Child Protection Policy for Amuru District
Vision for Children and Youth Forum participated in the drafting and review of a five-year child protection policy as a working document for CSOs working on childrens rights and child protection in Amuru District, with support from Save the Children Uganda and Amuru District Local Government in May and November 2024.
The document has been submitted to the district for approval and publication for use by any CSO working on children’s rights and protection.
Objectives of the Meeting.
- To Review and Finalize the Child Protection Policy To discuse key provisions and ensure alignment with national and international child protection frameworks.
- To incorporate feedback from stakeholders to strengthen the document.
- To Stakeholder Engagement and Validation To Gather input from CSOs, local government, and child protection agencies.
- To Ensure inclusivity and representation of all key actors in child rights advocacy Commitment.
The document was submited to the District officials for approval last year December but we have not yet gotten a feedback.
