Environment campaign, Food & Nutrition and SRHR Awareness
Name of Organisation: Shines Children’s Foundation
We also organized an Environment Day activity through “The Dream School Programme,” promoting environmental conservation and sustainability. This included environmental awareness messages, sensitization about gender-based violence, tree planting, and distribution of tree species.
Additionally, we conducted sessions on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), assessing participants’ knowledge on topics like consent, menstruation, and family planning.
A food and nutrition component with cooking demos was also part of the program, focusing on community members’ nutrition needs, particularly teenage mothers.
These activities empower girls and young women, reducing vulnerabilities to early marriages and teenage pregnancies. We also convened an older girl sports camp, promoting girls’ empowerment through sports and building confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
Our education project provided continuous education and scholastic materials to less privileged children, supporting their continued education and reducing vulnerabilities to child marriage and teenage pregnancy. By sponsoring more kids, we’re committed to creating a supportive environment for girls to thrive.
