Girls Time for School

Hope and Peace for Humanity has its vision for a socioeconomically empowered community with persons whose rights are recognized and upheld. Access to quality education is a human right that should be promoted and advocated for thus one of the key programmatic objectives of the organisation is to provide education opportunities for girls from disadvantaged households education sponsorship and psycho-social support structures and referral pathways systems.

The program stands on 4 pillars of access, retention, learning and progression and being an active member of education, GBV/child protection cluster working group of Gulu and Omoro districts, the organisation participates in the quarterly partner coordination meetings to highlight its programmatic outputs and outcomes.

During this quarter, 30 girls have been supported with education/scholastic learning materials and sponsorship fees paid fully in the respective schools and they have returned to their various learning schools/institutions.

120 girls have been supported with sanitary pads to enable them remain in schools and through mentorship sessions have received career growth, adolescent and positive living counseling. Hope and Peace for Humanity remains committed in addressing negative social norms that erodes girls’ self-esteem and confidences through advocating for girls and young women’s access to social justice, fundamental human rights and principles that promotes human dignity.
