Parliament Engagement on Ending Child Marriage & Teenage Pregnancy

Name of Organisation: Uganda Youth and Adolescents Health Forum

On 10 April 2025, in partnership with UNFPA and Raising Teenagers Uganda, we convened 20+ legislators to strategize on ending child marriage and teenage pregnancy. MPs pledged budget allocations for SRH, stronger policy enforcement, and full implementation of the National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy.

Engagement meeting with Members of parliament; Accountability and accelerated action to End Child Marriage & Teenage Pregnancy.

Over 17 legislatures reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and reigniting legislative reforms and policy implementation that protect adolescents and young girls from ChildMarriages and Teenagepregnancies.

One of the key and commendable pledges from the law makers at the engagement where: Prioritizing budget allocations and policy enforcement for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Following up with and ensuring a systematic and holistic implementation of the National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy both at parliamentary, and constituency level.
