
Reentry and skilling of young mothers

Reentry and skilling young mothers at Central Girls Vocational School -Luwero district. Promoting second chance education and life skills training for girls and young women aged 13 -20 years affected by teenage pregnancy and child marriage. Model focus covers sessions on personal development, life skills, fashion and design, ICT, agri-business, cosmetology and beauty therapy.
Hosting 2 cohorts of 96 AGYW at the school and 225 community stakeholders. Preventive engagements held under this program engaged 12 primary schools in Luwero, Mayuge and Alebtong districts focusing on girls education, building support systems to keep girls safe and adolescent reproductive health with focus on menstrual health management talks, making reusable pads and distribution of 300 pad bags with soap to ensure girls stay at school during menstruation. rained and supported 101 expecting young mothers covering sessions on maternal and child health, child care, nutrition, general hygiene, accessing antenatal and postnatal care services, and breastfeeding practices.
