GNBU Calls for Renewed Action as Uganda Reviews Strategy on Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy: Nile Post

Girls Not Brides Uganda (GNBU) has called for renewed commitment and stronger multisectoral collaboration in the fight against child marriage and teenage pregnancy as stakeholders gathered to validate findings from a rapid assessment of the National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy.

Speaking during the validation of a rapid assessment of Uganda’s National Strategy to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development in Kampala, Mr Byabasaija further attributed the challenges to limited parental supervision, noting that some parents spend long hours away from home looking for money, leaving children without adequate adult supervision.
