Kikorongo women community supported Media engagement of girls and boys through Radio talk shows. This was done by trace me back girls representatives to participate in radio talk
Training Students on Environmental Protection
We have been training schoolboys and girls on environmental protection to tackle climate change. This was done in 2 schools with adolescents and trees were given on world environment day 2024.
The Adolescence Health Awareness Campaign
Although several interventions have been undertaken to address the issues faced by adolescents and young people when it comes to their overall well-being, there has been some stagnation on some issues such as teenage pregnancy and child marriage.
Hand over of scholarstic materials to learners with disabilities
With Funding from the Girls First Fund we purchased and handed over scholarstic materials to 55 leaners with disabilities at Buyiga Island and 15 in Mpigi Town Council, Mpigi district
Empowering Young People with SRHR/Financial Inclusion knowledge and skills
Training and building capacity of young people in West Nile and Kampala with knowledge about Sexual Reproductive Health, while integrating financial inclusion skills for young people out of school in Arua, Terego, Madi Okollo and Kampala districts with focus on meaningful youth engagement principles.
Sensitization Sessions on the Bye-Law to End Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancies in Ngwedo sub county Buliisa District
Eight (8) sensitization sessions were held in Avogera, Ajigo, Muvule Nunda, uduk1 &2, kisomere, Ngwedo farm and Kasinyi reaching out to 572 participants in attendance. The community members appreciated the bylaw with 80% pledging to support its enforcement.
Life skills training with focus on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHRs)
A total of 3,600 girls and boys were equipped with leadership, life skills, and Adolescent SRHR knowledge to navigate adolescence.
Skilling young mothers for economic empowerment
Mama Initiative for Development is tackling early marriage and teen pregnancy in Kasese by training young mothers in livelihood skills, educating girls on their rights, and promoting mindset change among parents.
EMPOWER HER 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (I-DAY) is a day to raise awareness, prevent, and eliminate violence against women and girls. The day is celebrated on November 25th, and is accompanied by a 16-day campaign of activism that ends on December 10th, Human Rights Day.
