International Day of the Girl Child

JLMC in partnership with the community legal volunteers and eight primary schools of Kasangombe Sub County of Nakaseke District, came together to celebrate the International Day of Girl child 2025. This took place at Bukalabi P/S where girls to lead in the day’s activities as MCs for the day, presented on theme of the day- “the girl I am the change I lead girls on front line of crisis through songs, dance, poems and drama. These presentations were made to over 300 pupils in attendance, the Inspector of school for Nakaseke District.
Objectives of celebrating the IDG.
- To provide a platform for girls to take charge of the program showcasing their ability to lead.
- To raise awareness on girls’ rights by highlighting challenges faced by girls in education, safety, participation and promoting equal opportunities.
- To strengthen community partnership through engaging in school, parents, political leaders and community legal volunteers to collectively support girls’ development.
- To boost girls’ talents, confidence and creativity through presentations like music, dance and drama thus amplifying girls’ voices.
- To involve school inspectors, head teachers, parents and leaders to commit to concrete actions that advance girls’ welfare.
