Fountain of Life Uganda (FOLU)
Description
FOLU is a women led CBO found in Otuke District. the organization was formed in December 2012 to respond to the challenges that were being faced and are still being faced by women and girls in and out of school. FOLU works with and through other stakeholders in the District so as to achieve its own vision and mission statement, the renewed registration certificate number is OTDLG/2023/007 with Otuke District Local Government.
FOLU Vision is to create a peaceful, equal, balanced, and a prosperous society that is free from any kind discrimination based on sex, age, colour, and race.
The Mission of FOLU is to advance the status of women and girls through the promotion of livelihood and economic empowerment programmes, promotion of SRHRs, and education programmes for Orphans and Vulnerable children.
FOLU is guided by the principles of Respect for diversity, intergrity, Equity, cultural diversity, partnerhip, self determination, involvement, innovation, fairness, accountability, and non. discrimination.
FOLU objectives are:
- To enhance the education of Orphans and Vulnerable children through provision of financial support, scholastic materials and promotion of SRHRs for girls in and out of schools.
- To promote and provide vocational training and skills development facilities for out of schools girls who are interested in pursing certificate courses in tailoring, saloon and hair dressing, computer training, motor mechanic and driving for adolescent boys,
- To build and strengthen the capacity of vulnerable women and girls by promoting the rights of children and eliminating all forms of violence practiced against women and girls in Uganda.
- To jealously protect our environment through promotion of good environmental practices.
- To Partner and network with other organizations whose aims and objectives are similar to that of fountain of life Uganda.
- To promote volunteer opportunities to international and national students.
