Wilmat Development Foundation (WDF) is a Local Community Based Organization registered as an NGO (INDR157134925NB | 80020001599969) in Uganda that was founded on the notion of preventing and responding to the vulnerabilities faced by women and youth in the community. Since inception in 2017, WDF has impacted over 15,200 beneficiaries in various communities of Uganda and across the globe with the need to enrich more lives through improved Livelihoods, Socio-Entrepreneurship, GBV/SGBV Prevention, Gender Equality, and Advocacy efforts in driving community Sustainable Development.

VISION: Building a community where Women and Youth realize their full social, economic and civic potential.

MISSION: Fostering community cooperation and independence of under deserved women and youth to enable them initiate and manage community-driven socio-economic and development processes.

OUR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES:

  1. To promote Community-led approaches on social entrepreneurship, Agricultural productivity, Environmental adaptation, Food security, Nutrition, and WASH practices for Women and Youth.
  2. To empower marginalized women and youth with low cost high impact hands-on skills, capacity development, mentorship, advocacy, civic education, and opportunities to improve their livelihoods and socio-economic well-being.
  3. To advance Community-led approaches on prevention and protection of gender-based violence survivors through social entrepreneurship, gender equity, peace building, advance childhood Effects trainings, and civic education.
  4. To promote good governance, Policy advocacy, and advocate for the rights of communities especially the most vulnerable groups (women, children and Youth) to actively participate in all developmental programs affecting their daily lives.
  5. To promote gender mainstreaming, empower women and men, mitigate child forced marriages and improve sexual reproductive health (SRH) outcomes for women and youth to thrive.
  6. To strengthen HDP response to vulnerabilities of Internally and externally displaced persons through low-cost high impact solutions for them to thrive.
