Uganda Community Based Association for Women and Children Welfare (UCOBAC) is a non-Government Organization in Uganda focusing on the promotion of women and children’s rights in Uganda.
The organization was founded in 1990 and formalized in 1991. UCOBAC is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee (Registration No. 80010003109280) and as a Non-Governmental Organization (Registration No.5861).

We envision empowered communities free of poverty and able to exercise their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
UCOBAC MISSION
To promote human rights and welfare of women and children using community-based initiatives.
UCOBAC OBJECTIVES
- To identify and define vulnerable women and children, their needs and priority programs.
- To plan, design and implement programs to promote human rights and improve welfare of women and children
- To advocate for positive welfare policies and programs to meet priority needs of vulnerable women and children.
- To strengthen capacity of grassroot and community-based organizations to mobilize resources, develop local practices and advocate for rights and welfare of women and children in their communities.
PROGRAM AREAS
- ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN (OVC); this program aims at promoting full development and realization of rights of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Uganda
- WOMEN’S LAND AND PROPERTY (WLPR); this aims at promoting equitable land rights through strengthening women’s tenure security and decision making on land.
- SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS (SRHR); It aims at promoting and protecting women and young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- CLIMATE CHANGE AND RESILIENT LIVELIHOODS (CCRL); this aims at promoting climate justice and resilient communities to effects of climate change.
