Mpigi Women with Disabilities Association (MPWDA)
Description
Established and registered as Community Based Organization in 2004 with Mpigi District Local Government. Elevated to a Non- Government Organization in 2022 and registered with the National Bureau for Non-Government Organizations with the Reg. No. 6118. We are mandated to implement in nine lower Local Governments of Mpigi District. Our beneficiaries are women and girls with disabilities of all categories. Our members are Sub County and town council associations of women with disabilities. Our thematic areas are; health, education, economic Empowerment, disability inclusion and Legal Support
Mission: To Coordinate and Facilitate Development Programmes for the Equalization of Opportunities and Better Quality Life for Women and Girls with Disabilities
Vision: Self- Reliant, Responsible and Joyful Women and Girls with Disabilities Accessing Equal Opportunities in Society
Objectives
- To increase reproductive maternal health rights for Girls and Women with Disabilities (GWWDs).
- Create awareness among the public about the rights and potentials of Girls and Women with Disabilities (GWWDs.
- To strengthen the structures of Mpigi District Women with Disabilities Association for effective lobbying and advocacy
- To create awareness among GGWDs to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.
- Mobilize Girls and Women with Disabilities Association to form and register groups
- To build the capacity of Women with Disabilities Associations to be self-reliant
