Dwelling Places (DP) has extensive experience in the prevention and protection of victims of child trafficking and unsafe migration (CTUM) programming, advocacy and strategic engagement around CTUM in the Karamoja sub-region as well as at the national level. Since 2002, DP has been at the forefront of efforts to combat child exploitation, including trafficking and modern-day slavery. Through our rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration programs, DP has directly supported 2858 vulnerable children, sheltering them, counselling, vocational training, Education, and family reunification services.

Dwelling Places has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by victims of child trafficking and has established strong relationships with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Kampala Capital City Authority, Napak District Local Government, and like-minded Civil Society organisations, and existing community structures, which positions us well to expand its work to specifically address the pressing issues of child trafficking and exploitation, especially in the areas of prevention and victim protection and support. Dwelling Places is poised to leverage its considerable expertise to implement a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to the prevention, protection, and empowerment of affected children and their families and contribute to the reduction of child trafficking.

DP has strong corporate governance and management credentials overseen by a Board of Directors, and a very technically skilled and experienced management team who all interact within a robust governance framework. International protocols shape DP’s strategic intent and overlay the National and Regional CTUM aspirations.
